Dear Avery:

Today is your second birthday.

Excuse me one second while I go cry into my coffee because I can't believe my baby is two.

TWO!

You are one amazing little girl, you know it?

Yes, you know it.

Alexa would like to think she's in charge but deep down we all know who is really is.  The only time she gets to boss you around is when your 'playing house' but even then you are secretly bossing her around by fake crying and making her run around like a chicken with her head cut off trying to keep up with your demands.

She may be reconsidering this whole 'Mom' thing.

Not me, though, even when you are taking your diaper off in the middle of the hallway, peeing, then running into the bathroom to sit on the toilet.  Guess what child, you're supposed to pee in the toilet.  I even bought you a fancy pants toilet seat to pee on.  Use it!

Also, if you could start talking that would make both our lives so much easier.

Your vocabulary consists of "Up! Up! Up mama!" and "no no sissy" and "juice" for everything even though your current favorite is chocolate milk, thanks to Sis, so when I get you juice you throw a giant fit and refuse to drink the damn juice.

On the other hand, though, you are rather polite. You just started saying "please" rather than signing it.  And you never miss saying "bess yew mama" when I sneeze (and then pee a little thanks to you and your sister).

You'll figure it out soon enough.  You seem to be a perfectionist and would rather practice the word in your head and then only bust it out after it meets your requirements.

You're funny, entertaining, and you seem to know what you want, when you want it, and aren't afraid to ask or just throw a screaming fit until some poor soul figures out what you need.  Usually Sis.

She loves you so much and would rather give you the toy than see you sad.

She helps you when you need it.

And she loves reading to you and snuggling with you on the floor to watch TV.

She sneaks you into snuggling by playing house and setting up a pillow and blanket for you and then crawling in next to you and just simply enjoying your presence.

You love giving out hugs and running up to Dad with a sparkle in your eye and complete excitement in your voice.  He melts every. time.

You complete us.

Out perfect little family of four was realized when you were put into our lives.

We love you Avery Jo!

Happy Birthday!

Love,
Mom
