Happy Birthday Alexa

Apparently at the very old and distinguished age of six is when a person decides they are wayyyy too cool for family birthday parties and instead would like to have a bunch of friends over for a party.  And when I say 'over' I by no means wish to imply that we had a bunch of six year olds at our house for a party, holy crap that makes me scared just thinking about it.

Related side note - Alexa recently went to a classmates birthday party wherein this person had invited their entire kindergarten class and on the agenda was swimming, a shaving cream fight, and a pinata.  Like, a totally sane mom had all these kids over and had them get dirty *gasp* and then hit something until it vomits out a bunch of sugar.  Thanks goodness for cool mom's....and dad's...that can handle that kind of thing.  Alexa had a blast.

So anyways, we went to the local pizza place and had them cook us supper and let the arcade games entertain the children.  It was great!

There was presents and pizza and priceless memories.

And also husbands being awesome.

And most importantly, there was a very happy birthday girl!

So, in conclusion, I have a six! year! old! who can brush her own teeth, pick out her own matching clothing and make me wonder what I ever did to get so lucky as to have her in my life.
